It sounds crazy, I know.  But I’ve been desperate.  For a week now, I’ve been slathering my face with Vaseline.  Yes – straight, thick, greasy Vaseline.  The real deal.

I told you once before about how I had a Vitalize Facial Peel done.  And, for the most part, the process was peaceful.  You can even see the video in that post.  The top layer of skin peeled, but it wasn’t painful.  It was simply bothersome (and flaky!)  And when it was over with, I was left with smoother, tighter skin.

However….  I just did the peel again.  And this time, it was miserable.  I don’t know what was different, but it felt (and appeared) as though the top TEN layers of my skin peeled off.  I was raw.  My skin was sensitive to AIR. I was told I needed to moisturize, but short of keeping my face submerged, I wasn’t sure what to do.

I reached for the Vaseline out of desperation.  I needed something to stop the air from assaulting me.  At first I did it just at night.  And then I started to see that my skin was happy.  Yes.  HAPPY.  It was soaking up whatever goodness and moisture the Vaseline was providing.  I started to use the Vaseline during the day as well.

Now… keep in mind, this Vaseline therapy is not without flaws…  my hair is not a fan.  And neither are my pillows, if ever I turned in my sleep.  But my face?  Again, I say happy.

It took a week for my skin to heal.  In that time, I began to glow.  I have not had one blemish.  My pores are smaller. And though I am ‘back to normal’, I find I’m still reaching for the Vaseline.  My skin has never been so soft.

True, some of the credit may go to the Vitalize Peel, however…. it is remarkable to me that Vaseline has such healing properties.  I can assure you, I will be reaching for that jar multiple times throughout the Winter.  My skin is not a fan of the cold and dry months and Vaseline has proven to me it can combat that nastiness in no time at all.

Try it.  You might like it.
