Treating Breakouts

Acne – it’s an issue often associated with puberty and teenage years. The reality is that it affects everyone, regardless of age and it definitely doesn’t get less annoying as you get older. The urge to pick, pop and squeeze at your blemishes also doesn’t go away, no matter how many times the experts tell you to stop.

The blemishes on your face are inflammations caused by a waxy material that has blocked a sebaceous duct, called a comedone, which will either be a whitehead or a blackhead. The naming of your blemish depends whether the top of it is open, meaning it’s a blackhead, or closed, a whitehead. When infected with trapped bacteria it becomes an inflamed pimple.

Picking, popping and squeezing your pimples may seem like an easy and quick fix to a pesky problem, but this causes further irritation and damage to the fragile skin tissues surrounding the blemish and could also drive bacteria out underneath the skin.  This could result in permanent cysts and infected tracts.

While most blemishes can be treated on your own, some stubborn comedones will need professional help to remove. Aestheticians or nurse professionals will have access to product suggestions that may help in treating current skin issues and preventing future problems.

This great approach to treating breakouts is simple:

Wash your face with the Theraderm Cleansing Wash rinsing well.

Next, place a very warm washcloth over your face for several minutes. This softens the skin’s surface, follicle openings and the waxy contents of your comedone. After, gently blot your face with a tissue until your skin is dry.

Apply Theraderm’s NuPeel Natural Enzyme Gel evenly to your face and let it sit for at least one minute. Next, gently rub your skin’s surface in a circular motion. This will exfoliate the skin surface and significantly open your pores.

Finally, cleanse your face again with the Theraderm Cleansing Wash. This process gives excellent results in treating blackheads, whiteheads, and breakouts over 90 percent of the time.

If your breakouts are more severe, or appear on your face on a regular basis, the Reversion Clear Skin System may be the right products for you. This 3-step system attacks acne at the source without leading to drying or irritation.

Another beneficial way to keep your skin clear is to utilize the natural, classic preventative measures. Always remember to clean your skin with a simple daily routine, drink at least eight glasses of water every day, eat a balanced diet and get sufficient sleep. Practicing these habits is the best way to minimize breakouts or other skin problems.
