Summer has flown by this year, don’t you agree? I can’t believe we are already in September! Where has the summer gone? Anyhow, given that you cannot freeze time, I figured it’s time to start thinking about prepping and transitioning my skin from the golden glow of summer to the cooler temperature months. Following are some of the things that I do to prep my skin for the new season and arm myself with the right products and treatments to keep my skin healthy and radiant:

Exfoliate, Exfoliate!!

This is probably the single most important thing that you can do for your skin to get rid of the dry brown skin of summer and prepare it for the cooler season. My hands-down favorite way to exfoliate at home is with Theraderm’s NuPeel Natural Enzyme Peel because it gently and thoroughly gets rid of all your old dirty skin. I LOVE IT! And I also love visiting my local Korean Spa for a traditional Korean Scrub, it is intense and will make your skin feel like a baby’s – it’s definitely a MUST try!

Cracked Lips Be Gone!

Lips can crack and peel in cooler weather so don’t forget to hydrate and protect them to keep your pucker looking good throughout the fall season. Infused with potent peptides that smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, and soothing avocado oil and vitamin E which deliver much-needed moisture, the Anti-Aging Lip Complex delivers the perfect balance of hydration and rejuvenation in a perfect non-sticky gloss formula!

Consider Getting a Professional Peel

This is an intense treatment that goes into the deeper layers of the skin and goes beyond what you can do at home. A professional peel can really transform your skin and keep it even, healthy and supple. It doesn’t come cheap or pain free, but it is well worth it!

Moisturize More Often

Even if you have oily skin, the cooler months call for more moisture and hydration for your skin. As the temp drops, my skin begs for a more emollient cream so I tend to switch to a slightly richer cream during the Fall and winter season. I also tend to use more hydrating body washes as well.

Don’t Forget About Protection

Even though temperatures have cooled, do not neglect your sun protection. Don’t be misled by the sun feeling less intense, you must always remember to protect your skin with an SPF 15 or higher every single day no matter what season it is.
