After speaking with Dr. James Beckman, CEO and founder of Therapon Skin Health, it was determined that a chemical peel would give her the best results. Dr. Beckman examined her skin and recommended the original Jessner’s solution, a clarifying peel that induces exfoliation of the outer layers of skin. Helping to reduce the signs of fine lines and wrinkles while balancing excessively oily skin, this formula produces visible results in as little as one treatment. “I didn’t know what exactly to expect going into it,” Sarah said. “And I didn’t realize that so many Theraderm products would be used before, and obviously during, the procedure.” To prepare her skin for the chemical peel, Dr. Beckman used Theraderm NuPeel Natural Enzyme Peel, a non-abrasive exfoliant that removes impurities and readies skin for product absorption. After the impurities were removed, Fruit Acid Exfoliant was applied to Sarah’s skin, followed by the first layer of Jessner’s solution. “The first layer of the peel was actually the most intense of all the layers,” Sarah said. “There was definitely some heat to it, but nothing I couldn’t handle. After that, each additional layer didn’t feel that hot to me.” When the peel was complete, Sarah said she noticed redness and a very tight feeling in her skin, but no discomfort. Her skin began peeling two days after the procedure and major peeling continued for four days. Once the peeling had finished, Sarah said her skin looked even better than she expected. “Honestly, it was a really enjoyable experience,” Sarah said. “The peel itself is nothing to be scared about.”
