It is no secret, that I am a girl with curves and I LOVE my curves! I have never been a stick figure and have never wanted to be, but in all honesty, I constantly struggle with maintaining my weight. I guess I am
blessed with one of those metabolisms that easily puts on weight if I over eat, eat the wrong types of foods or even lookat unhealthy food, lucky me! I have also noticed that as I have gotten older (I am gonna be 44 at the end of this month) this battle is getting harder and harder to fight and my weight takes alot of work to maintain, let alone lose.
Add to this struggle, that I am a total foodie (and food writer) who constantly loves to try new foods, dine out and be adventurous–it’s not the easiest lifestyle to maintain if you want to lose weight. However, with all that being said, I am actually doing alot better with my battle. My secret is two-fold: consciously eating fresh local seasonal foods and regular (at least 3x per week) somewhat intense cardio and strength training exercise. This combo really works for me because I get to enjoy a lot of gorgeous seasonal food without compromising taste and then add in this great new circuit class I started taking a couple of months ago and I am more on my way than ever. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t easy and I still would like to lose about 10+ pounds, but I have found a healthy and enjoyable approach that makes sense for me. It is a plan that I can stick to, feel good about, and NOT feel deprived while doing it.
