There are lots of inexpensive food items you can use  to enhance your skin and hair OR if you just want something quick and easy and already in your pantry – this post is for YOU!

If you flat iron your hair everyday you know better than anyone that splint ends are almost inevitable.  Reach for the olive oil to not only moisturize and smooth splint ends – but it also nourishes to prevent future ones!  Olive oil is also good for keeping eczema and psorisis hydrated to cut down on the “itchy” factor.

With summer just around the corner – poison ivy and poison oak will be too!  And if you have ever found yourself with the very itchy rash – you ‘ll be glad to know you can simply reach for the oatmeal to soothe.  Just add a few cups to your tepid bath water and soak!  Itchiness gone and you can do it often as you like!   If you happen to suffer a sunburn (shame on you!) you can make a simple paste of oatmeal and water – it will take the pain away!

The yummy richness of the deep yellow tumeric is a natural anti inflammatory and help speed wound healing.  Once again – just make a thick paste with water and apply to the wound.  It will be better before you know it!

One of my favorites is seaweed.  Make a paste with seaweed sheets that you purchase from an Asian store and apply to those cellulite problem areas, think  thighs and/or buttocks.  The thought process is that the seaweed improves circulation – therefore reducing the appearance of cellulite bumps.   I take this internally as a blood purifier to remove toxins that I unknowingly ingest on a daily basis.

One of the old tried and true – pumpkin.  Pumpkin contains essential fatty acids that hydrate and plump the skin as well as enzymes that peel away the dead-dry surface cells.  Pumpkin will have your skin glowing in no time!

These are just a few of my favorites…..do you have any tricks up your sleeve?
