Fall Skin Care

Many people look forward to the fall season for the cooler weather and upcoming holiday season. Unfortunately, with cooler weather comes drier skin. Now that fall is officially here, it’s time to get rid of roughness and hydrate!

When our skin is dry, we experience a roughness or flakiness due to a layer of cells on the surface of the skin that are dull and dry. A series of chemical peels or regular exfoliation with a product such as NuPeel Natural Enzyme Peel are good ways to remove this layer of cells. Once the dead skin cells have been removed, fresh, healthy cells are exposed and skin is returned to a normal condition.

A moisturizer should applied daily to help keep skin hydrated. A heavier lanolin-based moisturizer like Enriched Facial Moisturizer or Extreme Dry Skin Therapy are great options for those who are susceptible to dry skin. People who are sensitive to lanolin can use other moisturizers of varying heaviness to help their skin remain soft and healthy.

The key to keeping your skin hydrated in the fall is to pay attention to what your skin needs. If it feels rough or dry, then you probably need to exfoliate more frequently and use a heavier moisturizer. However, if your skin becomes oily with a heavier moisturizer, then you probably don’t need to increase the amount of hydration you apply. When your skin feels soft and healthy, you’ll know when you’re using the right product.
