Do you have an special beauty rituals? Any regimens that you regularly follow to ensure that you look your best? Any secret weapons that you are reluctant to share with others? Anything that you do daily, nightly, weekly or monthly to help you feel your most beautiful self? Do you have any beauty tips or tricks that you have done for years that instantly relax you and just plain make you feel better?
You bet your bottom dollar that this beauty maven engages in many beauty rituals to make her feel and look her purrrtiest, freshest, polished self. Below I am sharing some of these tips and tricks with you (shhh. . . don’t tell anyone its just between you and me):
- Weekly Face Mask: No matter how busy and crazed my schedule gets, every single Sunday without fail, I apply a mask to my face. After my son is in bed and I am prepped for the week, I do an analysis of my skin to see what it needs and then I typically do some sort of exfoliation or a steam followed by the mask du jour. I totally look forward to this slice of time that I carve out for myself to relax, renew and unwind (even when I travel), and now my hubby even knows that Sunday’s are mask night (and he is usually not too scared when I walk around looking like the Wicked Witch of the West)
- Twice a Month Clarifying & Deep Conditioning Treatments: Since I am constantly trying all sorts hair products, I tend to notice that periodically my hair looks drab, flat, and dull. That is when I know it is time to clarify and condition. So about twice a month, I like to use a sulfate-free tingly clarifying shampoo that removes all of the yucky dulling product build-up off my hair and brings it back to life. I follow this thorough cleanse with a yummy, thick, hydrating, moisturizing deep conditioning mask. I give my hair a thick coat of product, put on a disposable shower cap, and I chillax for about an hour with my mags.
- Monthly Body Scrub/Exfoliation: This might be my fav ritual of all because I feel all spa-like when I use a yummy sugar or salt based scrub all over my scaly body to get rid of the old tired skin. I also really dig using loofah gloves too, because they are effective and super easy to use. I emerge from the shower refreshed, renewed and softer. And every once in a while as a treat, I head to my local Korean Spa for a transforamtional Akasuri Scrub. This is an intense scrub where they use silk exfoliating cloths to slough the dead skin off every inch of your body (and they finish by shampooing your hair.) Kinda rough, kinda rustic and and I LOVE every minute of it!
So what are your beauty rituals? What are your secret weapons for looking and feeling rejuvenated? I look forward to swapping tips and tricks with you.
